Depending on the vehicle, it is recommended to change the oil and oil filter according to the maintenance interval specified by the manufacturer, every 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 or 30,000 km. However, in Estonian conditions, it is recommended to change the oil no later than after 15,000 km. This is due to the changeable and humid climate, large annual temperature differences and short driving cycles where the engine often fails to warm up to operating temperature. This causes more wear, so the engine oil loses its protective properties faster.
